Cocoaland story began when two brothers started out as small vendors selling deep-fried snacks and banana fritters in the Klang Valley. They were later joined by other brothers and moved upstream in their business activities in order to benefit from higher margins. The first company, Mite Food Enterprise Sdn. Bhd. was formed in 1980 as a manufacturer and distributor. Success came in the mid of 1980s when the brothers identified a market opportunity for the manufacture of polytubed drinks, which enabled the company to venture into the overseas market for the first time, exporting to Middle East. Due to business expansion, LB Food Sdn. Bhd. was incorporated on 23 January 1984, a primary trading arm of the Group for distributing the house brand processed and preserved foods and fruit locally and overseas presently.

In late 1980s, the brothers purchased their own factory thereafter where the group’s second successful product ‘Koko Jelly’ was produced. In line with further expansion, Cocoaland Industry Sdn. Bhd. was incorporated on 22 August 1990 and commenced business on 2 March 1991, a principal manufacturing arm of the Group which is currently engaged in the manufacturing and trading all kinds of processed and preserved foods and fruits.

Recognising additional capital requirement combined with the uplifting brand recognition, Cocoaland Holdings Berhad was incorporated on 6 June 2000, was listed in the Second Board of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad on 18 January 2005 and later successfully converted to Main Board on 18 July 2006.

Today, Cocoaland Holdings Berhad has five subsidiaries namely, L.B. Sdn. Bhd. Cocoaland Industry Sdn. Bhd., CCL Food & Beverage Sdn. Bhd. Lot 100 Food Co. Ltd. and PT Cocoaland Indonesia. The group of companies are managed by few siblings. As a leading manufacturer of the sugar confectionery products in Malaysia such as fruit gummy, candies, chocolate, wafers and snacks, its business was extended to beverage from the year 2010. The Cocoaland products are now distributed not only in Malaysia but also in overseas market which are South East Asia, Middle East, East Asia, north America and Europe.
